This is one of the most refreshing CDs I have heard so far this year! Marcy Morman & Ekklesia gives us a CD that will soothe you with nice mellow vocals, cool musical arrangements and the crisp, clear lead vocals from Marcy Morman. Ekklesia is the group for you to pay attention to. The musicians are skillful and the arrangements are simple yet appealing to the ears. Unlike their first project, this one features only one lead vocal, that works very well, because of her delivery on each song. Songs that I’m feeling on this project include: “There’s Something About You”, “Bless God”, “My Secret Place” and “Gotta Stand”. Ekklesia has managed to fused elements of both R&B and Jazz to cook up a taste of good gospel music. If you are hip to new musical ideas, then this is the CD for you. If you are not, it will eventually grow on you so just take a moment and listen to the music of Ekklesia. It's fresh, original and creative.

Your artist project is very refreshing and anointed. Marcy Morman & EKKLESIA is one of the hottest groups I have heard this year.

Well if you're going to shout and praise the Lord, then putting together a fine collection of jazz tinged soul tunes is as good a way as any to do it.

Marcy Morman is the featured vocalist and has a strong, vibrant voice, ably backed by 4 other female songers and half a dozen talented musicians. Of course, it would all come to nought without good songs and this set of original material stands tall.

Some of the material could step up in tempo and there are a few splashes of bad eighties keyboards but Ekklesia to do their duty to be a light in dark places.
